The Crossroads of Denial

Mar 22, 2026    Pete Pawelek

In Part 2 of our CrossRoads series, we step into the cold courtyard where Peter faced one of the greatest failures of his life. This message explores the moment Peter denied Jesus three times and asks a sobering question we all must answer: Will you stand with Him, or walk away from Him?

Peter was bold, courageous, and deeply committed to Christ, yet when the pressure rose and following Jesus became costly, he collapsed. His story reminds us how quickly confidence can give way to compromise, and how distance from Christ can set the stage for denial.

But this sermon is not only about failure. It is also about grace. After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to Peter personally. Peter had forsaken the Lord, but the Lord had not forsaken Peter. That is the hope of the gospel. Jesus does not move toward perfect people. He moves toward broken people, failures, and those who know they have messed it up.

This message is for anyone who has been following Jesus at a distance, anyone who has compromised under pressure, and anyone who needs to know that failure does not have to be final.
