When Everything Changes

In this message from John 20:1–18, Pastor Pete proclaims the heart of Easter: Jesus is alive, and His resurrection changes everything. John's passage starts with Mary Magdalene’s grief-filled journey to the tomb, reflecting how many people approach life weighed down by loss, fear, or disappointment. However, Easter morning redefines despair because what appeared to be the end was actually the beginning of God’s greatest victory.

Pastor Pete highlights how the empty tomb confronted assumptions and invited faith. While Peter and John ran to investigate the evidence, Mary lingered, weeping, and it was there that she encountered the risen Christ. The turning point came when Jesus called her by name, revealing that resurrection is not only a historical event but a personal invitation. Jesus meets us in our sorrow, calls us personally, and transforms our despair into joyful purpose.

Because Jesus lives, forgiveness is real, hope is secure, and believers are sent to share the good news: death has been defeated, and new life is available to all who trust in Him.
