Convictions

Babylon has arrived. Not somewhere far away. Not in some distant culture. It’s here now, and it is pressing in on our schools, our homes, our churches, and our minds.

In this first message from the book of Daniel, we discover that the greatest threat to our faith is not always open persecution but rather it is subtle persuasion. Babylon didn’t start with lions or fire. It started with education, appetite, and identity. The result of Daniel’s first battle was not survival. It was surrender, but before the test came, Daniel had already determined in his heart that he would not defile himself. His convictions were settled in private long before they were tested in public.
