When The Writing Is On The Wall

Have you ever watched something go from bad… to worse? In Daniel 5, Babylon feels untouchable. The walls are strong. The wine is flowing. The music is loud. The enemy is outside the gates, and the king is throwing a party.
Then suddenly a hand appears and writes on the wall.
This message is a sobering reminder that moral decay is gradual, but judgment is sudden. Just because God’s judgment has not fallen yet does not mean it never will. God is patient, but He is not passive. He is merciful, but He will not be mocked. However, here’s the good news: The writing on the wall does not have to mean judgment for you. At the cross, Jesus was weighed down with our sin so that we could receive mercy instead of condemnation.
