“God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.’” – Exodus 3:14

When God called Moses at the burning bush, He didn’t give him a pep talk about his skill set. He didn’t offer a leadership manual or walk through the basics of public speaking. Instead, when Moses asked, “Who should I say sent me?” God simply replied, “I AM.” In other words, Moses wasn’t the point. God was.

That’s the same truth for you today. When God sends you into something that feels too big, too uncertain, or too intimidating, He does not expect you to bring everything you need. He brings Himself. And that’s enough.

The name “I AM” isn’t just poetic. It’s packed with truth. God is saying He is present. He is eternal. He is unchanging. And He is active. His name isn’t tied to a memory or a moment. It’s tied to movement. To mission. To provision. That means wherever God sends you, He’s already there. Whatever He asks you to do, He’s already resourced it. Whatever feels lacking in you is filled up in Him.

Obedience is not about self-confidence. It’s about God-confidence. You don’t obey because you know you’re good enough. You obey because you know He is. You move forward not because your fear disappears, but because your faith gets louder. That was the turning point for Moses. It wasn’t that his fear vanished. It was that he trusted the One who said, “I AM with you.”

Maybe you feel like you’re not enough for what God’s calling you to do. That’s actually a good place to start. Because the truth is, you’re not. But the great I AM is. And He didn’t just send you. He goes with you. He equips you. And He is everything you need.
