More Than Maintenance
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." – Ephesians 2:10
It can be easy to fall into survival mode. You wake up, hit your routines, handle responsibilities, maybe try to squeeze in a little progress somewhere, and then crash. Life starts feeling like a checklist of things you just have to get through. It becomes more about maintaining than growing, more about existing than advancing.
But that is not how God designed you. You were never meant to live stuck on autopilot. Ephesians 2:10 tells you something radical. You are His workmanship, His handcrafted creation, and He has already laid out good works for you to walk in. Not just small, religious tasks, but a life that actually moves the Kingdom forward.
This means your days are not random. There are specific things only you can do. Conversations only you can have. Lives only you will impact. God did not save you just to keep you safe until heaven. He saved you so that through your life, His purposes would be fulfilled here and now.
Maintenance will always feel safer than movement. Playing it small will always feel more manageable than stepping into something unfamiliar. But maintenance is not your mission. You were made to build, serve, give, risk, love, speak, and obey.
If you have been coasting, it is time to wake up. The God who formed you also formed your path, and He has no intention of wasting your life. You were made to move with Him. Not perfectly, not always confidently, but faithfully.
Stop asking if you are capable. Ask if He is calling. And if He is, take the step. Maintenance is easy. But movement is where the miracles happen.
