Delivered for Significance

"Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son." – Colossians 1:12-13

If you have ever wondered whether your life actually matters, if the things you do carry any real weight, you are not alone. Most people at some point feel like they are just surviving, working hard, making ends meet, trying to do good, but deep down, they’re unsure whether it all amounts to anything that truly lasts.

That is exactly why the message in Colossians 1 is so important. Paul doesn’t just say God saved you. He explains why. You were delivered from something and delivered into something. Pulled out of darkness and planted in a Kingdom. Qualified to share in an eternal inheritance and set up to walk in a life that bears fruit.

Your salvation was not random. It was intentional. Before you ever reached for God, He was reaching for you. And when He saved you, He didn’t just give you forgiveness. He gave you purpose. That means the way you live today matters. Your choices, your words, your relationships, your attitude, none of it is neutral. All of it can reflect the Kingdom you now belong to.

But you have to choose to live like it. It’s possible to be delivered and still walk like someone who’s lost. It’s possible to belong to the King but still act like you’re on your own. You were made for more than that.

You were delivered for significance. Not the kind the world offers, but the kind that echoes into eternity. So embrace your identity. Live a life that points to the one who rescued you. The King didn’t save you to sit on the sidelines. He called you to shine.
