You Were Made to Stand Out
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account." - Matthew 5:10-11
No one enjoys being misunderstood, singled out, or pushed aside. Most of us spend years trying to fit in, blend in, or go unnoticed. But according to Jesus, standing out for the right reasons is a blessing. In fact, it is one of the clearest signs that your life is aligned with His.
Jesus never promised that following Him would be easy. He said there would be moments of resistance, rejection, and even slander. But not because you are doing something wrong. Sometimes, it is because you are finally doing something right. If you live in a way that reflects righteousness, integrity, and boldness for Christ, there will be people who do not like it. But heaven sees it differently.
Persecution, in any form, is not something to chase, but it is something to expect. And when it comes, it should not shake you. It should steady you. Because Jesus said you are blessed. Not overlooked. Not abandoned. Blessed. Not because of the pain, but because of what the pain proves. You belong to Him.
There will be times when the world pressures you to stay quiet, to water down your convictions, or to hide your faith to keep the peace. But you were made to stand out. Not for your glory, but for His. Every time you choose courage over comfort, you reflect the Savior who endured far worse for your sake.
If following Jesus makes you stand out in this world, remember what that really means. It means you are walking closely with the One who was also hated, mocked, and misunderstood. And in that, there is great reward.
