God Is Not Shocked by Your Situation

"For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son." – Romans 8:29

Sometimes the weight of your worst moments makes you feel like you’ve fallen off the path for good. Like you had your chance, but you blew it. Maybe it was a decision you regret, a season of rebellion, or just a string of small compromises that added up to a quiet kind of distance from God. And now you wonder if you’ve messed everything up.

But Scripture reminds you of something powerful. God is not surprised by your story. He didn’t choose you without knowing what you’d do. He saw it all. The good, the bad, and the broken. And He still said yes.

That’s what Paul is talking about in Romans 8. When he says that God “foreknew” you, he’s not talking about information. He’s talking about intimacy. God didn’t just know facts about your future. He knew you. And He still called you. He still set a purpose for your life. That means your worst moment doesn’t cancel His calling. It doesn’t erase your identity. It doesn’t derail His plan.

The enemy will try to convince you otherwise. He’ll whisper that you’ve gone too far. It’s too late. God must be done with you by now. But that’s not how grace works. The cross wasn’t given because you were going to get it all right. It was given because God already knew you wouldn’t.

If you’ve been sitting in shame, waiting to feel worthy again, stop waiting. God’s not walking away. He saw it coming, and He still came for you. That means you can stand up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. You are still called and chosen. You are still His.
