God’s Design Is the Best Design

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever caught yourself wondering if your life is really going anywhere? Like maybe you were just thrown into the world without a clear path or purpose? That kind of thinking is more common than most people admit, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. According to Scripture, you are not the result of randomness or mistake. You are the workmanship of God Himself. That means every detail of your personality, gifting, wiring, and life experience has been handcrafted with purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 says that you were created in Christ Jesus for good works, not just random busyness or striving for success. These good works were prepared beforehand, which means God had your assignment lined up before you ever took your first breath. This isn’t some vague motivational idea; it’s divine design. And when you don’t see it, or when you try to replace it with your own plan, it shows. There’s a reason people feel tired, burned out, anxious, or like nothing is ever enough. We were not built to be our own source of purpose. We were built to reflect His.

So why do so many still live like they are self-made? Why do we keep trying to create meaning out of hustle, comparison, or applause? If you’ve been chasing identity through what you do instead of who you belong to, it’s time to step back and ask yourself why. God doesn’t want you to manufacture greatness. He’s already planted it in you through Christ.

You don’t have to figure it all out today. But you do need to stop living like your life is some kind of accident. God made you on purpose, for a purpose, and that means your job is not to create your value, it’s to walk in it.
