Answer the Right Questions

"Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying?" - Matthew 6:27

Sometimes Jesus taught by telling stories. Other times, He taught by asking questions. And in Matthew 6, He fires off a whole bunch of them. Not to confuse us, but to get us thinking. Because worry makes you ask all the wrong questions. What if this happens? What if that falls apart? What if I cannot hold it all together? Jesus flips the script and asks better questions. Ones that help us see life clearly again.

Isn’t life more than food? Aren’t you worth more than birds? Can worry add even one second to your life? If God takes care of grass, won’t He take care of you? These are not trick questions. They are wake-up calls. Jesus is not trying to shame you for worrying. He is trying to lift your eyes and remind you who your Father is.

When you start answering those questions with faith instead of fear, your heart begins to settle. Worry loses its grip when truth takes root. That is what Jesus is after. A new perspective. Not a perspective shaped by panic or pressure, but by the steady hand of a God who has never once dropped the ball.

The problem is not always the size of your struggle. It is often the direction of your focus. If all you do is ask anxious questions all day long, your soul is going to stay restless. But if you start responding to Jesus’ questions with truth, something shifts. You remember who you are. You remember who He is. You start walking in faith again.

Listen, you do not need another pep talk; you just need to answer the questions Jesus already asked. Do you believe life is more than the things you stress about? Do you believe you are worth more than birds? Do you believe God cares? If the answer is yes, then let that shape how you live today.

Worry asks all the wrong questions. Jesus helps you ask the right ones. And the right questions always lead you back to faith.
