He Is the Word
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14
Some people see Jesus as just another spiritual leader. A wise teacher. A compassionate healer. Maybe even a revolutionary voice who challenged broken systems. But Scripture paints a much bigger picture. In John 1:14, we are told plainly that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. This isn’t symbolic language. It means exactly what it says. Jesus is not a messenger from God. He is the message. He doesn’t just speak truth. He is Truth.
In ancient times, the “Word” or “logos” was understood as the logic, reason, and organizing principle of everything. John opens his gospel by saying that this eternal Word was with God in the beginning, and that it was God. Then he takes it further. That same Word became flesh and walked among us. That’s Jesus. Fully divine. Fully human. Fully revealing what God is really like.
When you look at Jesus, you are looking at God Himself. You’re not getting a secondhand version. You’re not watching a movie based on the true story. You are face-to-face with the nature of God. His grace. His authority. His purity. His love. All of it displayed in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
The question is not whether you agree with Jesus' teachings. It’s whether you recognize Him as God. Because if He is the Word made flesh, then everything He said, did, and promised carries the full weight of God behind it. There’s no middle ground. He’s either exactly who He claimed to be, or none of it matters.
What you do with Jesus determines everything else. And if He really is the Word, then He’s not just worth listening to. He’s worth surrendering everything for.
