When God Interrupts
"Then the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’" – Exodus 3:4
Moses wasn’t in a temple when God spoke to him in Exodus 3. He wasn’t in a prayer meeting or reading Scripture. He was tending sheep in the wilderness, walking the same paths he had probably walked for years. It was an ordinary day in an ordinary place. Until it wasn’t.
God showed up in a bush that burned but wasn’t consumed. And everything changed. You don’t need to be in church for God to speak to you. Sometimes, He chooses the middle of your routine. At your desk. In your car. At the gym. While you’re doing dishes. God still speaks. And more often than not, He does it when you’re least expecting it.
But the key is this: will you turn and pay attention?
Moses could have walked right past that bush. He could have dismissed it or rushed through his day without stopping. But Scripture says he turned aside to see. That moment of curiosity became the doorway to his calling.
God doesn’t always shout. Sometimes, He just interrupts. A conversation that convicts you. A Scripture that stirs something deeper. A moment of quiet where your heart suddenly feels exposed. And if you’ll pause long enough to listen, you might just find yourself standing on holy ground.
You don’t have to be perfect to hear from God. You just have to be available. You just have to care enough to stop when He calls your name.
So what if today is your burning bush moment? What if God is trying to speak through what feels normal or boring or hard? Will you keep walking? Or will you turn aside and say, “Here I am”?
He still speaks. But only those who are willing to listen will ever hear Him.

I continue to pray daily for my husband’s salvation. One day he will accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. But until then I will continue to listen to Klove ( my Christian radio station)and sing along and on Sundays that I can’t make church in person I crank up my volume sit right by my husband of 45 years and I listen to Pastor Pete Sermon. ??
