Sent With a Purpose
"There was a man sent from God, whose name was John." - John 1:6
Purpose is not something you create. It is something you receive. John the Baptist is a perfect example. Scripture does not simply say that John appeared. It says he was sent. His life was not random or accidental. God formed him, called him, and placed him in a specific moment in history to prepare the way for Jesus. John understood something we often forget. If God sent you, then your life carries a divine assignment.
John’s purpose was not glamorous. It was not easy. It did not place him in comfort or popularity. But it did place him exactly where God wanted him to be. He was the voice crying out in the wilderness. He pointed people to Christ, not to himself. He knew his role, embraced it with confidence, and fulfilled it with faithfulness. His purpose was clear because his identity was grounded in the One who sent him.
The same is true for you. You are not here by accident. Your personality, gifts, relationships, and opportunities are not random. God has sent you into your home, your job, your school, your community, and your generation with a purpose. You are here to make Christ known. You are called to reflect His character, speak His truth, and shine His light in places that need hope.
Being sent does not always feel significant, but it always is. You may not stand before crowds like John. You may never see the full impact of your obedience. But heaven sees it. And God, who sent you, equips you for everything He calls you to do. When you follow His assignment, your life carries weight that eternity will reveal.
You are not walking through life trying to figure out who you are or why you exist. Scripture already answered it. You are sent by heaven for this moment. Step into each day with purpose. Live with intention. Point others to Jesus. Your assignment matters because the One who sent you is faithful.
