When God Holds Back His Strength
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
Strength is usually measured by how quickly something can be resolved. When pressure builds or conflict stretches on, it is natural to wonder why God does not step in and end it immediately. Dependence would never deepen. Strength would remain self-directed. By meeting weakness with patience, God creates space for trust to grow. The struggle is not about winning against God. It is about being changed by Him.

I ride horses, and what you describe is almost exactly what we are working toward when we train. A good trainer learns exactly how much pressure to put on an animal to get it to basically submit it's will to us. Also part of that is for the horse (and us) to learn what exactly the master is asking. Very interesting that what you wrote fits so well with horses. God knows exactly how much pressure produces growth without breaking what He loves. We are imperfect and are not always patient with our equine student. The very good news is that God is always patient with us, and the reward - wonderful fellowship with HIM.
