Fear Makes the Problem Bigger Than God
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." - Psalm 56:3
Fear has a way of shrinking everything except the problem in front of you. A single situation can start to dominate your thoughts, conversations, and prayers. Pressure narrows vision. What once felt manageable suddenly feels overwhelming. In those moments, fear does not usually deny God outright. It simply pushes Him to the background while the problem takes center stage.
This is how fear works. It magnifies threats and minimizes God’s power. It convinces you that the obstacle is unique, permanent, and bigger than anything you have faced before. Faith begins to feel unrealistic because fear keeps pointing to what you can see. The heart starts measuring God by the size of the problem instead of measuring the problem by the greatness of God.
Scripture repeatedly calls God’s people back to clarity. Faith does not pretend problems are small. It remembers who God is. When pressure builds, faith anchors vision in God’s character rather than changing circumstances. His strength does not fluctuate with difficulty. His promises do not weaken under stress. Fear clouds perspective by isolating the moment. Faith widens the view by remembering the One who stands above it.
