Pulled Out with Purpose

"He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son." – Colossians 1:13

Rescue stories usually end with relief. Someone trapped gets pulled out, someone injured gets carried to safety, and that’s where the credits roll. But when it comes to your life, God didn’t save you just to leave you on the sidelines. His rescue always comes with a reason.

Colossians 1:13 says you were pulled out of the domain of darkness and brought into a new kingdom. That’s more than a change in scenery. That’s a shift in identity, in direction, in purpose. You weren’t just pulled out of sin. You were pulled into something better. Into belonging. Into calling. Into mission.

Many people treat salvation like a safety plan. As long as they’re out of hell, they’re good. But that’s like being rescued from drowning and choosing to just sit on the beach for the rest of your life. You were made to move forward. God didn’t pull you out so you could stay stuck. He pulled you out so you could live out a life that reflects His love, His character, and His glory.

There are people around you who still feel stuck in the dark. Still searching for hope. Still wrestling with the weight of shame and confusion. Your life is meant to be a light to them. Not because you’re perfect, but because you’ve been rescued. And when God pulls someone out, He always has a purpose for their life that extends beyond just their own comfort.

The question is not just what you were saved from. It’s what you’re living for now. Are you walking in the freedom and purpose God rescued you to live in? Or are you still stuck near the shoreline, afraid to take the next step?

You were pulled out with purpose. Live like it.
