Sent People Live Sent Lives

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." - 1 Peter 2:9

We have all been sent by someone. Maybe your boss sent you to run an errand. Maybe your kids sent you to the store. Maybe your spouse sent you to grab something they forgot. You did not volunteer. You were sent. That is how it works. You go because someone asked, and in most cases, you go without arguing because it is part of your role.

But have you ever stopped to think about what it means to be sent by your Savior? Jesus does not just save us and leave us. He saves us and sends us. And this call to go is not for the few. It is for all. Every follower of Jesus has been sent to live for the Kingdom and make the gospel known. If you know Him, then you have a calling. If you have received mercy, then you have a mission.

Peter reminds us that we have been chosen, not just to be saved but to proclaim. Not just to believe but to shine. We are not called to build safe lives and chase comfort. We are called to live sent. That means wherever you go, you carry the name and message of Jesus with you. That means work is more than a paycheck, your home is more than a house, and your neighborhood is more than a place to live.

It is not about waiting for the perfect opportunity. It is about seeing that every moment is full of purpose when you know who sent you. When you understand that you are God's possession, bought with a price, then the question is not if you are sent. The question is whether you will live like it.

You were called out of darkness for a reason. You were pulled out so you could help pull others out, too. If we fail to answer that call, we have missed the point. You do not need a passport or a platform. You just need the conviction to go where He leads and to speak when He opens the door. You are a sent one. It's time to live like it.
