You’re Not the Point, God Is

"But Moses said to God, 'Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?' He said, 'But I will be with you.'" – Exodus 3:11–12

Moses had a million reasons to disqualify himself. He was a runaway with a past. He had no clout in Egypt, no eloquent voice, and no army at his back. When God called him, his first reaction was the same as ours often is, "Who am I?"

But notice how God answers. He does not give Moses a pep talk or recite his resume. He does not say, “You’re amazing. You’ve got this.” Instead, He simply says, “I will be with you.”
That changes everything.

God doesn’t base your calling on your qualifications. He doesn’t send you because you’re strong, impressive, or eloquent. He sends you because He is. That’s the shift every believer has to make. Your courage doesn’t come from who you are. It comes from who He is. And that means you don’t have to be the point.

You don’t have to be the hero of your story. You don’t need to be enough. You just need to be available. When God is the one leading the charge, you stop looking at your limitations and start trusting His presence.

If you’re stuck in insecurity or fear today, ask yourself, have you made it about you? Maybe God isn’t looking for someone to impress the world. Maybe He’s looking for someone who knows they can’t do it without Him.

You’re not the point. But the good news is, He is. And He will be with you.
