Dead Ends Are Launchpads

"Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb... He cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’" – John 11:38, 43

Some people will look at your story and assume it’s over. They see where you’ve been buried. The shame, the failure, the pain, and call it your ending. They roll the stone in front of your purpose and call it final. But they don’t get the last word. Not when Jesus is involved. What looks like a tomb to them is a launchpad to Him.

That was the case with Lazarus. Dead for four days, sealed behind stone, already starting to decay. From a human standpoint, it was done. His story had reached the end. Yet Jesus stood in front of that tomb with resurrection in His voice. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t waver. He simply called Lazarus by name and said, “Come out.”

There is a reason Jesus waited until the fourth day. He could have come sooner. He could have healed Lazarus before he died. But He wanted to make a point. Even when it looks too far gone, even when the body is cold and the grave is closed, He still has power to speak life. The delay was not neglect. It was preparation for a greater miracle.

Your story might have some tombs too. Places that feel like they’ve been sealed off. Areas where you’ve been written off. Maybe you even believed it yourself. But those dead ends are not the end. They are setups for a voice that can still call you forward. That same voice that called Lazarus is calling you, too.

When Jesus steps into the place where they buried you, everything changes. What was once a symbol of death becomes the stage for resurrection. You do not have to stay wrapped in what held you. He is calling you out, not just to breathe, but to live. Don’t let the grave convince you it's over. The Author is still writing. And the next chapter starts now.
