Unashamed

“But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you are to speak. For you will be given what to say at that hour, because it isn’t you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father is speaking through you.” - Matthew 10:19-20

If you are saved, you are sent. And if you are sent, you are called to go unashamed. That does not mean you will always be comfortable. Jesus was clear that following Him would lead to hard moments. But feeling uncomfortable is not the same as being ashamed. The first is part of the cost. The second is a heart posture that has to be challenged.

In Matthew 10, Jesus does not sugarcoat it. He tells His followers that they will be handed over. They will face hostility. They will stand before people in power. And in those moments, Jesus says not to worry. You do not have to prepare a speech or have the perfect words. The Spirit of your Father will speak through you.

That is a promise, not a suggestion. You are not going alone. You are not speaking alone. You are not standing there in your own strength. God says, I will be there, and I will speak. So you do not have to shrink back. You do not have to blend in. You do not have to hide your faith or stay silent when the opportunity comes.

You may feel fear. That is normal. You may feel awkward. That is part of it. But don’t let those feelings convince you to stay quiet about Jesus. The world is loud about everything else. We need believers who will speak with boldness. Not arrogance. Not self-righteousness. Just boldness born from a deep love for the gospel and a trust that God will provide the words.

When God sends you, go unashamed. Not because you are confident in yourself, but because you are confident in the One who goes with you.
