Communion Is Covenant

"This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." – Luke 22:19

When was the last time you stopped to think about what you were actually doing during communion? Not just the motions. Not just the bread and cup, but the meaning and the weight, the relationship behind it.

See, in the ancient world, breaking bread meant something sacred. It was all about relationship. It meant trust and covenant. When Jesus handed His disciples the bread, He wasn’t just giving them a snack with symbolism. He was giving them Himself. He was making a promise. Not with paperwork or signatures but with presence. With loyalty. With blood.

And that matters for you because communion is not just remembering what Jesus did, it’s stepping back into what He invited you into. It’s being reminded that He gave everything and that you’ve been invited to give everything in return. This is not just forgiveness. It’s surrender. It’s shared life.

When you take communion, it’s not about feeling guilty. It’s not about appearing spiritual. It’s about realignment. About being honest. About showing up before God and saying, I remember what You’ve done, and I know what I’ve committed to. I’m Yours.

The cup is not for people who have it all together. It’s for those who know they don’t. It’s for the ones who know they’ve drifted but want to come back. It’s for people like you, who need grace and want to keep walking in it.

God didn’t give you a contract to sign. He gave you a meal to share. And in that meal, He calls you to remember what it cost Him and to renew your own “yes” to Him. That’s what communion is. It's not a routine or a ritual. It’s a covenant with Him.
